Riding in Mumbai on Yamaha R1
Owning a sports bike like Yamaha R1 in a busy city, pros and cons.
Mumbai is known as the city of dreams. Millions of people with millions of dreams. The birthplace of Bollywood, one of the biggest industries in India.
The beauty of Mumbai is its beaches. Even though your life in Mumbai is fast-paced and hectic, let me slow it down for you a notch.
It was a bright afternoon, and I was all set to vlog for the day. The plan was to go to Gorai beach in Mumbai. My friend Shabbir was accompanying me and my Yamaha R1.
Gorai is a quaint town in Mumbai. It is a perfect weekend getaway for Mumbaikers because one can reach there within 2 hours drive. It has a long stretch of beach with coral rocks and shallow shores. Party people and families come here to enjoy the completely different ambiance of palm trees and Goa-like feel.
I set my trip on meter to zero, and revved for the destination. Met Shabbir on the way and took a small chai break. Made some adjustments to the camera setup and continued to the beach. Turns out, my voice didn’t get recorded.
Shabbir is on his Harley Davidson Street 750. I have vlogged with him once before, you check it out on my channel. His Harley was a babe, I was absolutely love-struck. Such a beauty! I’m sure my Yamaha was jealous.
From Mahim to Manori beach, you will cross Bandra – Andheri – Jogeshwari – Goregaon – Dahisar and finally Manori. The weather was very pleasant, the sun was up and the breeze was warm.
We took another halt at a Dhaba in Dahisar. It was past 4, and we didn’t have lunch. By the time we reached the beach, it was perfect. The sun was almost about to set with enough time to make some videos, enjoy the beautiful sunset and head back home.
I was trying to fix something on the helmet, and dropped my helmet. I hate when this happens. Luckily, I didn’t damage the GoPro, but it did get some scratches.
We decide to park our bikes and enjoy the beautiful view of the mesmerizing Gorai beach. Though there were very fewer people but you have to believe that it is not an isolated beach. You can enjoy hot roasted corns and other snacks at the beach. We decided to sit and enjoy all by ourselves.
If you know any off-beat places in Mumbai, let us know in the comments down below. Until then, Live Your Life – Live Your Dream.
