Vlogging is my passion, and I can go to any limits to make good vlogs. Today, I’m going to make one more addition to my cameras. I have decided to purchase a Sony Alpha a6300 – one of the best cameras for vlogging.

I did a lot of research before I boiled down my decision to make such a heavy investment. I spent a lot of days reading and making notes, permutations and combinations to finally reach this conclusion.

In this blog I’m going to tell you exactly why I love this camera and why it’s one of the best cameras for vlogging.

My first and foremost basic requirement was the best quality videos. I shortlisted five cameras. Why did I choose Sony a6300 over the others? The other 4 competing cameras which I shortlisted were:

1. Canon G7X mark 2 – Not yet launched in India
2. Canon 70 D – couldn’t shoot in 60fps 1080
3. Canon 80 D – due to its heavy size, I dropped down the choice of purchasing it.
4. Sony RX100 Mark 4 – There is no port for attaching an external mic

Finally getting my hands on Sony Alpha a6300

It was a rainy afternoon, the roads were flooded with water and crowded. It has been raining cats and dogs for the last 3 days. I had to shoot a new vlog on Sunday and had to buy this camera today at any cost.

After riding in the rains, going through traffic and saving my soul on the streets of Mumbai, I finally reached the store where the camera was waiting for me.

Sony Alpha a6300 key additional features:

• 4K (UHD) video
• magnesium-alloy body
• Built-in microphone port

a6300 is Sony’s latest mirrorless camera. It is not very expensive, but still not cheap. Unlike the older models a6300’s autofocus ability, battery life, video quality, build, and the price has all been increased. For the kind of features, the price was actually not too much.

I can’t believe that I was actually holding this piece of magic in my hands. It was so exciting that I can’t even explain. After making the payment, getting the formalities done, I rushed back home.

It has been approximately a week since I bought this camera. And I waited this long because I needed to test the camera under the most perfect conditions. I had already shot one vlog with this camera and I was quite satisfied with the results.

My current camera is Canon 600D. I have been using it for quite some time. Frankly, it’s not my favourite but gets the job done. The camera may work for some, may not for others. Well, it didn’t work for me. The auto-focus doesn’t work when necessary. I had to switch it to manual and focus and record. The second important requirement was – I want my camera to be smart and fast.

Sony Alpha 6300 was just that. The auto-focus is unbelievable and the videos were amazing. I was very excited to imagine what my future vlogs would look like.

Some of the other requirements to have the best vlogging setup were: high-definition video recording quality, good audio quality, and the capability of recording at 60fps in 1080p. A compact body and flip-out screen were also some of the additional required features.

However, it was nearly difficult to get all of these in one camera; I had to compromise a little. Enough said about the good parts, let’s get to the drawbacks.

Finally coming to Sony alpha 6300, I bought it for Rs. 66,000. This is quite expensive for me. But since I do not compromise with quality, this is worth the investment.

Pros of Sony Alpha a600:

• it really gives surprising results in low light conditions
• the lens is 16 mm, which is very wide
• It can shoot at both 60 fps and 120 fps
• compatible with an external mic
•  compact enough so I could carry it anywhere with ease
• Better high-ISO performance
• Excellent subject tracking with real-time live view feature
